Spent most of Friday trying to log onto my puter
but alas it wasn't happy... but hey somehow managed to kick it into sorta working... then found out via a nortan alert that i had a trojan... only thing i can think of from where it might have come was when i was downloading some free programmes from the CompTIA A+ computer site or equivalent study provider from where i have been checking out computer qualifications..
mad i know.. but hey... the brain is getting stagnant.. and i get fidgety.... Thought what should i do with my life now... ie what route can i take... tried loads but get bored
.. i guess that's the Gemini in me .... Anyway i'll stop rattling on and get to the point... the only way i could fix it was to pay £70 to a remote techie from Nortan to fix it and remove it.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!...... then again he said it was embedded in my hubbies files... typical!!!!
.. ... but i thought to myself... why am i paying someone else to do this..when i could do it myself.... so computer qualifications here i come
.... Anyone any suggestions?????

I already got it fixed... hate bugs... LOL..... paid the money and let them do it.... i think it was because it was embedded within the files...they reckoned that factory setting restoration wouldn't work?.... I don't know... but i didn't want to go online with a bug at work :-)

have you tried system restore on your pc? You should have software anti-virus I mean on your pc that is vital -norton is a sw package and that should have stopped any virus, I have norton installed but have heard that it's not as good as others, firefox is free to download and has firewall but you can't use it with other browsers, still good though. Free anti-virus on the web apparently better than paid for!

I've never heard of Norton , or any Internet Security Software Companies charging one-off fees to remove anything . . . assuming that communication definitely was from them . .
If you have a trojan it's a good idea to get rid of it - and - to be 'on the safe side' get replacements from banks for any cards that anyone using your pc has used to pay for anything with .
If you restore your pc to factory condition that should remove it , though I can't say that it definitely would and I hope you can soon get some good technical advice from someone , all best wishes , - martin .
